Straight to Ale has been recognized as RateBeer’s 2019 Best Brewer in the state of Alabama, and Monkeynaut IPA has been named Best Beer in Alabama!
If you are wondering how the award-winning brewery in Huntsville began: It was founded by local home brewer Dan Perry in 2009. Straight to Ale quickly became one of Alabama’s largest production breweries.
In 2016 they opened their new 45,000 square foot facility at Campus 805. At this new location, they expanded to include cider and mead production along with distilled spirits, Shelta Cavern Spirits, a scratch made kitchen, Ale’s Kitchen, and an arcade and pool room.
Along with the awarding winning craft beers, you will also find absinthe, gin, rum, vodka, and whiskey. Some of their brews are available every day, while others are limited or seasonal. Their website shows a calendar of brewing dates.
Straight to Ale offers a variety of Event Spaces as well which are perfect for your next private party, concert, meeting or fundraiser. Each venue has a unique atmosphere complete with access to your favorite local craft brews. The event rooms include: Biergarten, Speakeasy, Homeroom, and Art Room.
The Speakeasy Room is a 2,600 sq ft, jazzy, intimate atmosphere that is hidden behind a secret entrance to reveal the perfect space for your next function. Complete with a 10 tap bar and access to a full mixed drink menu featuring our Shelta Cavern Spirits.
Amenities: tables, chairs, bartenders and private bar, screen/projector with HDMI input, A/C, small stage and power access. An event coordinator is available to answer all your questions.
Located inside Straight to Ale at Campus 805, Ale’s Kitchen serves gourmet burgers, wings, fresh cut fries other inventive culinary wonders. Featuring American, Asian Fusion, Barbecue, Burgers, Korean, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Sandwiches, Southern and Tex-Mex style cuisine.
A favorite of many is the Jerk Chicken Tacos: soft tacos with jerk marinated chargrilled chicken, spicy slaw, queso blanco, creamy avocado sauce, crispy tortilla strips, spicy jerk sauce and cilantro garish.

My burger was just that, a burger, not a paper patty on some flat bun. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the tacos, the best he’s ever had. My husband is the beer guru and he was very satisfied with his beers.
